Events

The Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment hosts regular seminars and workshops, most of which are open to all.
These events provide an excellent forum for sharing knowledge and ideas, bringing together experts and interested contributors from the private sector, academe, government and civil society to discuss relevant topics. While the format for each event may differ slightly, all events aim to promote interactive discussion.

Leaders discuss a clean-tech economy for Oxfordshire
Developing a low-carbon future for Oxfordshire is on the agenda at an upcoming event aimed at directors, senior managers and political leaders from across the county.
The event, co-hosted by Oxfordshire County Council and the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment, will feature presentations by Professor Sir David King, founding director of the Smith School, and Trevor Graham, who has been working in the city of Malmo, Sweden, to help it develop its clean-tech, low-carbon economy.
These will be followed by discussions about how senior business and political leaders in Oxfordshire can help each other respond successfully to the challenges and opportunities created by climate changes.

What is business doing about climate change?
The Smith School will co-host a half-day workshop with the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), Middlesex University, and the University of East Anglia that will ask what business is doing about climate change.
When: Thursday 25 March, 12:30-5:30 pm
Where: The Headley Lecture Theatre, Ashmolean Museum, Oxford
Speakers at the workshop include Will Day (Chair, Sustainable Development Commission); Wanda Kim (Managing Director, Head of Environmental Advisory Group); Jonathan Pinkse (Assistant Professor at University of Amsterdam Business School); Mick Blowfield (Senior Research Fellow, Smith School); Leo Johnson (Partner of PwC’s Sustainability and Climate Change team).
Lunch will be provided.
